Schöne heile Welt?

Bereits seit einiger Zeit existiert bei uns eine Initiative namens “Kunst im Fenster”. Unter diesem Namen wurden bereits verschiedene Arbeiten von Wittstocker Schülern aus dem Kunstunterricht in einem Schaufenster ausgestellt. Nachdem Ewa die Zusage erhalten hatte, dass wir weitere Fenster gestalten könnten (bis sich ein Mieter meldet), haben sich Steffi, Anne und ich entschieden, dafür ein Bild zu malen. Als Thema hatten wir uns Konflikte/Zerstörung ausgesucht. Das Bild war mehrere Monate in der Gröperstraße zu sehen. [/german]

An unserem Gymnasium war es Tradition, dass die Schüler des Kunstleistungskurses am Ende ihrer Schulzeit der Schule ein Abschiedsgeschenk in Form eines Wandbildes hinterlassen. Mit der neuen GOST-Verordnung ist es aber kaum noch möglich, an einem kleinen Gymnasium einen Kunstleistungskurs zu eröffnen. Uns haben damals nur wenige Schüler gefehlt und so waren wir praktisch ein “verkorkster” Leistungskurs. Heute ist es so, dass, wer auch immer Lust und Interesse hat, ein solches Wandbild der Schule hinterlässt. Das Material (Holzplatte+Farbe) stellt dabei die Schule.

Dies ist also mein Abschiedsgeschenk. Es stellt eine Erweiterung des Bildes “Kreis des Lebens” dar, dass ich im Rahmen des Unterrichts (Klasse 12) einmal gemalt habe. Dieses hier ist ein wenig komplexer. Es ist in erster Linie ein Hinweis, eine Warnung, welche Gefahren das Autofahren mit sich bringt. In dem Sinne ist es auch allen gewidmet, die selbst schon erfahren mussten, wie groß der Schmerz ist, auf diese Weise Freunde, Kinder, Eltern, Verwandte, Bekannte zu verlieren.

At our grammar school it was tradition that the students of the advanced art course leave a picture to the school as a gift. Because of new laws it’s hardly possible to start an advanced art course on a small school like ours. Our grade needed only few students to join to open one, but we failed. Now it’s common that those who want to draw a picture for their school. The material (wood to draw on + colors) are sponsered by the school.

Well, this is my picture. It’s an extension of my picture “circle of life”, which I had drawn for an art lesson in grade 12. This one is more complex. It’s a hint, a warning of the dangers that driving a car includes. So this is for anybody who had to make the experience of loosing a friend, a child, parents and relatives because of a car accident.

Unser letztes großes Thema für Kunst in der Schule war “Mensch und Medien”. We mussten durch den Einsatz von Metamorphosen ein Bild entwickeln und dabei möglichst ein “Bildzitat” verwenden. Das bedeutet, dass man eine charakteristische Form eines Künstlers für sein eigenes Bild verwendet. Ich habe mich für Michelangelos “Erschaffung des Adam” entschieden, aber natürlich habe ich Form und Absicht verändert, damit das Bild im Endeffekt zum Rahmenthema passen konnte…
Wir mussten eine ganze Mappe einreichen, die den Entwicklungsprozess von der Idee bis zum endgültigen Entwurf darlegte und auch nötige Skizzen und Studien enthielt. Außerdem mussten wir schließlich schriftlich erklären, warum wir welche speziell Arten der Bildform genutzt haben etc.
Mein Bild soll die neue Art der Kommunikation speziell durch das Internet darstellen. Aber natürlich werden wir auch durch das Fernsehen beeinflusst. Als Ergebnis folgt Isolation sowie das Problem mit der körperlichen Fitness. [/german]

Our last big topic for Arts at school was “men and media”. We had to create a picture using metamorphoses and if possible we were supposed to “quote” a famous artist – means using a characteristic form. I chose Michelangelo’s “Creation of Adam” but I of course I changed his form and intention so the picture would fit to the topic in the end…
We had to hand in a whole map showing the way we created and developed our idea and any scetches and studies. Plus we had to explain in writing why we used what special types of form etc.
My picture is supposed to show the new way of communication especially through the internet. But we’re also influenced by the television. As a result there is isolation as well as the problem of the body’s fitness. [/english]

Ich hab zu Weihnachten von meinen Eltern 4 Leinwände auf Keilrahmen in verschiedenen Größen bekommen. Dazu eine Tischstaffelei, neue Pinsel, Holzmischpalette und natürlich etwas Ölfarbe. Mit dieser Arbeit kommen gleich mehrere neue Dinge auf mich zu, denn es ist das erste Mal, dass ich
1. auf Leinwand male,
2. mit Öl male,
3. Wale male (bisher nur 2 oder 3 Zeichnungen).

For christmas I got 4 “pre-stretched canvas” (hope it’s named that way) in 4 different sizes. In addition a little easel (for tables), new brushes, palette (for mixing colours) made of wood and of course some oil colours. With this project there are several new things coming up for me:
1. painting on canvas,
2. painting with oil colours,
3. painting whales (only 2 or 3 drawings so far).

Done so far:
idea + fronting – January, 15th 2006 [about 30 minutes]
background – January, 15th 2006 [about 1 hour]
whales – January, 29th 2006 [about 1 hour]

I’ve made the photos directly after painting. Due to stil wet colours there are some nasty reflections…
